Do you have any of these? We do! Margaret Anne our 3 year old has all 3. In the medical world (of which I am not) they like to call this the allergy tri-fecta. If you have 1 or 2 of these you will usually wind up with all 3. Lovely words for a mother to hear when your child in suffering from eczema and food allergies when they are only 8 months old and knowing they will probably have asthma to. Of course in time she did wind up with all 3.
Margaret Anne's eczema and food allergies are so severe that her Dr.'s here in St. Louis are sending her to Denver, Colorado's National Jewish Hospital. We will go sometime in September for a 2 week outpatient program. The program will consist of them breaking down all 3 issues and then seeing how they relate to each other. First they will get her skin under control, which if you have seen Margaret Anne recently you will know it is usually flared up with horrible eczema. Then they will start to retest all her food allergies and even food challenge her, this means they will give her foods that the tests say she is allergic to and see if she actually has a reaction to them. As well as address her asthma and pulmonary issues. This is an answer to prayer and we are very excited about this journey if we can provide relief for MA's scratching I will call this trip a success! We are in the throws of the insurance stuff and all the logistical part of this trip but we will keep you up to date on all we hear and when we are headed out west.
